Women's Caucus for Arts honors Marcia Annenberg
for her work focusing on media outlets and their
ongoing omissions and misinformation about
social, political, and environmental issues.

Marcia Annenberg's current paintings, sculpture, installations, and videos focus on under-reported stories in American media: from 9/11, to climate change, to the loss of our constitutional protections. She was invited to speak at Princeton University's Bernstein Gallery, in conjunction with her exhibit, News/ Not News. Her panel at Flomenhaft Gallery, entitled, Art, Activism and Global Warming included Dr. Gavin Schmidt, Director, NASA, Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

Annenberg's paintings are in the permanent collections of the London Jewish Museum of Art, England; the Yad Vashem Art Museum in Jerusalem, Israel; the Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum in Vilnius, Lithuania and the Florida Holocaust Museum, St. Petersburg, USA.

A Letter from the Director

Marcia Annenberg, an artist we proudly represent, was named by Origin Magazine as one of the 100 Top Creatives in the country for 2015.

Marcia was a featured artist in our exhibit, Women Only, from December 11, 2014 - February 21, 2015. On January 28, she hosted a forum at our gallery about global warming and its threat to our planet, which I am proud to say was very well attended though a terrible snow storm blasted the city the previous day.  For those of you who missed it, I am sending to you now a video of that forum. Speakers included Dr. Gavin A. Schmidt, Director of NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies and several wonderful artists, Jeff Carpenter, Aviva Rahmani,  Simone  Spicer and of course Marcia Annenberg, herself.  The event was mind blowing and I hope you can sit back and enjoy it.

A panel discussion was hosted at Flomenhaft Gallery on January 28, 2014 by artist Marcia Annenberg (whose works are shown here) as a component to our Women Only exhibition (December 11, 2014 - February 21, 2015).

The speakers of the night were Dr. Gavin A. Schmidt, Director of NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, and artists Marcia Annenberg, Jeff Carpenter, Aviva Rahmani, and Simone Spicer:

The climate debate is often split along partisan lines, but organizations as diverse as The World Bank and the UN are warning of an irreversibly warming planet due to the burning of fossil fuels - oil, gas and coal.  How can the arts community respond to this threat to our global environment?
