In an article for ARTnews, Maya Angelou is quoted having said that she considers herself a "serious collector." Faith Ringgold is one artist that she has loved and supported for almost a decade. "Faith Ringgold paints. Because Faith Ringgold paints, [ACA Gallery] exists. They're all in collusion and it's exciting, it's thrilling, and it also keeps you from being lost and alone. Because there ain't nobody who can make it out here alone."

owner Eleanor Flomenhaft and traveled to 13 museums.

Her work was on view in the exhibit
American People, Black Light: Faith Ringgold’s Paintings of the 1960s
in the National Museum of Women in the Arts located in
Washington D.C June 21 - November 10, 2013.
