Faith Ringgold: a Favorite of Maya Angelou

 
In an article for ARTnews, Maya Angelou is quoted having said that she considers herself a "serious collector."  Faith Ringgold is one artist that she has loved and supported for almost a decade. "Faith Ringgold paints. Because Faith Ringgold paints, [ACA Gallery] exists. They're all in collusion and it's exciting, it's thrilling, and it also keeps you from being lost and alone. Because there ain't nobody who can make it out here alone."
